Christmas Dinner and the love of some wonderful side dishes.
Add your link to the link-up at the end of this post to share your favorite Christmas side dishes and main entrees.
Once upon a time our family would stay at home all day, leisurely enjoy our gifts, watch The Family Man and enjoy delicious snacks.
We hardly ever had a proper dinner. We are definitely in the minority.
With over 300 million pounds of ham and over 20 million turkeys consumed on Christmas we are clear on the main entree so let’s explore some delicious vegetable side dishes.
Just before sitting down to write this I went grocery shopping at Sprout’s. While there I bought a bag that says “Everday I’m Brusselin” so clearly this recipe for Brussels Sprouts with Hazelnuts, Oregano and Sage from Katie at Healthy Seasonal Recipes immediately caught my attention.
I have recently discovered that hanging out in Kalyns Kitchen is definitely some place that I want to be. Here we have Roasted Christmas Cauliflower with Red Bell Pepper, Green Olives, and Pine Nuts and in our Christmas brunch post I shared Kalyns Low-Carb Cheesy Crustless Quiche Lorraine.
Cranberry Kabocha Squash Chutney is just fascinating. I’m not sure that I would use it as a side dish so much as a topping. I’d imagine it would be good on Turkey and I believe our Fearless Diner when she says that it will be. I can’t say for sure as I do not eat Turkey but do let me know if you try this.
Just because they are colorful and supercool… Blue Mashed Potatoes brought to us by Tiffany at Living Sweet Moments.
All of these gorgeous vegetables and we still have not had a salad. Well, not to fear Veggies Save The Day with this great Mexican Christmas Eve Salad (I am willing to bet that you can also eat it on Christmas Day.)
I had so much fun exploring these dishes and hope you will too. What looks amazing to you? Do you see something yummy to try?
