Laguna Canyon Winery Wine Tasting Events offer a great way to enjoy even more of Orange County, California.
I found this to be true from the moment my friends and I walked through the doors. The Laguna Canyon Winery owners and staff greeted us with warmth, fun and terrific stories.
One of these such stories is about the time that the owner, Marlowe, called his dad to tell him of finding a great spot for Laguna Canyon Winery. During this call Marlowe indicated that he would love to have beautiful counters that reminded him of the exquisite work that dad did while building three family homes. Dad could not have been happier to grant his son’s wish. This was especially apparent when 13 days after the conversation Dad showed up in California (after a three day drive from Canada) with the exact counters that would make this winery feel like home.
It was lovely to have begun my evening with this story of love and family.
It was also pretty great continuing this Friday evening tasting event. We so often forget to take the time to give ourselves a break and to spend time with the people we care about. In today’s busy world this is something we often do not do because we feel that we just do not have the time. We need to make the time and I am so thrilled that I took advantage of the Laguna Canyon Winery opportunity which takes place on the first Friday of every month (check their calendar of winery events for any exceptions).
The Wine Tasting Event at Laguna Canyon Winery includes 10 flights of wine (one ounce pours) and an assortment of delicious foods served buffet style.
On the night that I attended our meal began with beautiful cheeses, various olives and an assortment of meats. The meal then continued on to Caesar Salad, Pumpkin Enchiladas, chicken and grilled vegetables. The meal was topped off with chocolate dipped chocolate chip cookies. As I listened to the live music, visited with friends and enjoyed the atmosphere I was impressed with the friendly nature of the owners, staff and any of the folks I spoke to. At only $40 per person this night is 100% worth it.
I posted on Instagram to see what wine recommendations my #instafriends would make and allowed that to help me decide from among the vast array of red wines, white wines, dessert wines and more.
I enjoyed trying everything but my favorites were definitely the 7 Barrel, Petite-Sirah and the Tawny Port. I also really liked the story of how the Purple Paws California Red Blend and California Chardonnay were named. A portion of Purple Paws goes towards the care of homeless pets. Laguna Canyon Winery calls this ‘Paws with a Cause’ which was a name that was created when a cute little furry friend ran through the winery and left footprints all over the floor.
