It is the most wonderful time of the year and also the busiest. Let’s bring it down a notch, grab the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews and create some snowflake crafts.
Crafting with your family is a great way to spend time together while also encouraging key skills such as visual processing, spatial rotation, executive function, muscle development and development of fine motor skills. As the child grows and develops the need for a creative outlet blossoms even more. In the older child we see confidence building, improvement of decision making skills and the feel good emotion of knowing that you care enough to sit down and spend this important time with them.
Take advantage of this time to create with your loved one, teach skills and to offer a safe space for any conversation that may come out of this time together. Let’s get started!
This pipe cleaner snowflake craft is really cute and I do love that Camille at Growing Up Gabel keeps her decorations really meaningful. I am the same way although I do like to mix in traditional Christmas balls.
The Vintage Button Snowflake is fun and unique. It is also a great way to use up any buttons in the house. Have fun with Carolyns Homework.
With the overwhelming popularity of the Star Wars franchise (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – In theaters December 16th) what snowflake craft post would be complete without Star Wars Snowflakes? Thank you to The Joys of Boys for providing.
This Snowy Winter Wreath from Creative Green Living is a great one for our older kids. Paint, sparkles and Snowflakes…what fun!
I love it! Reduce, reuse and recycle with this Faux Aged Copper Snowflake Ornaments from a Cereal Box with Where The Smiles Have Been.
A Bride On A Budget created DIY Snowflake Table Cards for a winter wedding but they would work just as well on your holiday table.
For the Frozen fan’s Mommy’s Bundle created this 3-step DIY Snowflake ornament inspired by Frozen.
Creative Green Living also offers a Frozen Inspired Snowflake this time in the form of Party Centerpieces.
A snowflake garland is a great way to bring together all of your fantastic snowflake ideas. April Go Lightly offers this idea.
Are you looking for an easy and inexpensive Christmas Wreath? This Shiny Snowflake Christmas Wreath from My Fave Finds is truly a fave.
I would love to know which crafts you are planning to make. Are you big on crafting? Are you planning to do some crafting with the special people in your life?
